There was a shortfall of $50,820.Criteria:The project is required to maintain a separate cash account in the name of the project, separate and apart from all other funds of the project, that has a minimum balance that is, at all times, equal to the tenant security deposit liability.Cause:HUD requested that restricted cash be transferred the project?s operating account from the project?s general operating reserves. The project did not have access to one of the general operating reserve accounts at the time and transferred cash from the security deposit account instead. This resulted in a underfunding of the account in the amount of $64,095.Effect or Potential Effect:The project is not in compliance with HUD?s requirements regarding tenant security deposits.Recommendations:Management should fund the tenant security deposit cash account as required by HUD.

Yorkville Corporation respectfully submits the following corrective action plan for the year ended December 31, 2019. The findings from the December 31, 2019 schedule of findings and questioned costs are discussed below. The findings are numbered consistently with the numbers assigned in the schedule. Findings ? Federal Award Programs Audits Department of Housing and Urban Development Finding 2019-1: Section 8 Housing Assistance Program, CFDA 14.182 Condition: The tenant security deposit cash account was not properly funded as of December 31, 2019. There was a shortfall of $52,475. Comments on the Finding and Recommendation: Management agrees with the finding and recommendation. Actions Taken or Planned on the Finding: Management will fund the security deposit account.
