Statistically valid sample: No Name of Federal Agency: U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Pass-through entity: N/A Questioned costs: $6,170 Statement of Condition 2019-001 (CFDA 14.155): There was not a HUD approved management certification in effect for the period October 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019. Criteria: The Regulatory Agreement requires the Property to have a HUD approved management agent's certification (form HUD-9839-B) at all times. Effect: The Corporation is not in compliance with the Regulatory Agreement. The Corporation has expensed unapproved management fees of $6,170. Cause: The prior management agent's certification (form HUD-9339-13) expired as of September 30, 2019 and a new management agent's certification has not been executed. Recommendation: A management agent's certification should be submitted to HUD for retroactive approval to October 1, 2019. Management should cease paying management fees until HUD approval is received. Completion Date: December 31, 2020 Management response: Agreed. Management will submit a new management agent's certification to HUD for approval.
