U.S. Department of Homeland Security The Incorporated Village of Bellport, New York (the ?Village?) respectively submits the following corrective action plan for the year ended May 31, 2020. The findings from the schedule of findings and questioned costs for the year ended May 31, 2020, are discussed below. The findings are numbered consistently with the numbers assigned in the schedule of findings and questioned costs. Responsible Individuals: Raymond Fell, Mayor John Kocay, Village Clerk FINDINGS - MAJOR FEDERAL AWARD PROGRAM AUDIT Department of Homeland Security 2020-001 Disaster Grants ? Public Assistance, FEMA 4085 DR NY- CFDA # 97.036- Significant Deficiency Summary of Finding and Recommendation Pursuant to 44 CFR 206.204(d), requests for time extensions beyond the recipient?s authority shall be submitted by the recipient to the Regional FEMA Administrator, and shall include (1) the dates and provisions of all previous time extensions on the project, and (2) a detailed justification for the delay and a projected completion date. The Village was advised by its FEMA liaison not to file the extension. The Village?s auditor recommends filing the extension letter as soon as possible. Planned Corrective Action: The Village Clerk met with its auditor and agreed that the FEMA Time Extension Request would be submitted as soon as administratively possible. Anticipated completion date: Subsequent to the discussion with the Village?s auditor, the FEMA Project Time Extension Request was submitted to New York State Department of Homeland Security on February 19, 2021. The extension requested a project end date of January 25, 2022.
